Meet the Dentist

Sensational Smiles are what Dr. Norman Huefner and his team are all about.  Healthy, comfortable and beautiful smiles!  He has been caring for Orange County families at his Sensational Smiles dental practice since 1980.

Offering most general dental treatments, Dr. Huefner's passion and expertise is cosmetic dentistry and in creating smile makeovers.  He is nationally recognized as being the “Official Cosmetic Dentist" of both the Mrs. Globe Pageant and the Mrs. U.S. Pageant and over the past several years Dr. Huefner has created "winning smiles" for more than a dozen beauty pageant winners and professional models*.

In 2003, Dr. Huefner was recognized as the Women In Need Foundation's “Man of the Year”.   After founding the national SMILE program, Dr. Huefner was also awarded the "W.I.N. Jewel of the Year" award for his distinguished service helping to establish abuse recovery programs throughout the United States.

Dr. Huefner is the founder of the Mrs. Globe Pageant “Smile Makeover Scholarship Program” and has been a regular judge for the Mrs. California Pageant, the Mrs. U.S. Pageant and the Mrs. Globe Pageant.

A graduate and preferred dentist from world renown LVI (Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies) and long time member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Huefner lecturers to dentists throughout the United States on the art of cosmetic dentistry.   In Southern California, Dr. Huefner regularly presents his program "Changing Smiles and Changing Lives with Cosmetic Dentistry" along with the distinguished plastic surgeon Dr. Juris Bunkis.   (Call to attend one of Dr. Huefner's programs or to request Dr. Huefner to speak to your group or organization).

Dr. Huefner is the author of  “Portrait Photography Basics for Cosmetic Dentists and Orthodontists” and he has written articles on dentistry and cosmetic dentistry in the Los Angeles Times newspaper and Household magazine.  Dr. Huefner's article "Crowning Achievement", highlighting his smile makeover for Mrs. U.S. Jill Frick, was featured in "the art of MAC" dental magazine.  He has also had three of his smile makeover patients appear on the cover of “the art of MAC”.  A "featured doctor" for Microdental Advanced Ceramics (see www.macveneers.com), Dr. Huefner was recently profiled by MAC in a national dental journal.

Catherine
With over 20 years of dental experience, Catherine is our Registered Dental Hygienist and our patients rave about how gentle and caring she is! She especially excels at making each patient comfortable by customizing each visit to their wishes. She takes the time to get to know her patients and how each one likes to be treated in the dental chair. Catherine is also trained and certified in laser and advanced hygiene concepts.

Kathy
Kathy, our Registered Dental Assistant, has been our team leader for the past 19 years. Her gentle, caring concern for your well-being will certainly make your dental visits more comfortable and enjoyable. She is Dr. Huefner's "right arm" in creating "sensational" smile makeovers for our patients. Have a special question about your dental care or treatment? Kathy is always there to answer your questions and to set your mind at ease.

Pam
Pam is our office manager and has been with our Sensational Smiles practice for 16 years. Her experience in creative financing and treatment coordination enables our patients to receive the dental treatment they deserve, pleasantly and with a smile. If you have a special problem, Pam will work closely with you to help you get a healthy mouth and the “smile of your dreams”.

Susan
Our hygiene and scheduling coordinator is Susan, and she has been with our team for four years. She also is our "Zoom" bleaching technician. Her smiling face is there to assist you with emergency treatments, x-rays, teeth whitening procedures, and any other scheduling needs. Susan's goal is to make your visit with us an enjoyable one.
